A wet street at night with a screen glowing orange in a bakery window and, along the sidewalk, screens in other shops showing the same content, linked by lines of light to a row of screens in the distance.

If you run screens for other businesses, you don't sell software. You sell presence: the shop that wants to be seen in the neighbourhood bakery, the clinic that wants the waiting room, the gym chain that wants the same campaign in every location. The software sits behind all of that, and it decides whether thirty screens across eight clients are one operation or thirty small jobs.

This piece is for people in that position: an integrator or regional operator, from 10 to 200 screens, several clients at once. It lists what you should demand from any platform before you bet your operation on it, and shows, point by point, how Lucimark measures up — including where it still falls short.

First: the business has to stay yours

Before comparing features, ask any vendor who owns the relationship with your client.

Some arrangements tie the software to something else: the vendor's own hardware, ad space sold by the vendor itself, or a resale price the vendor sets. In any of those, part of your business stops being yours, and you only find out how much when you try to renegotiate or leave.

With Lucimark, the service belongs to your business. You offer screen space, campaigns and content at the price you set; the contract, the billing and the margin are yours. Lucimark does not sell space on the screens you run, and it does not talk to your client on your behalf. It is the infrastructure behind your operation.

In practice, each client has its own account in Studio, with its own media, schedule and screens, with no risk of one client's campaign showing up on another's screen. You sign in to all of them with one login and switch between them. There is no single dashboard that brings all your clients into one view yet; today you open one client at a time.

Cost has to fall as the network grows

Software billed per user, for storage or in fixed bundles penalises exactly the operator who grows: every extra technician, every extra video, every new client becomes another line on the invoice. The number that matters to an operator is the cost per screen, because the screen is the unit you sell.

Lucimark charges only per screen, and the price drops in tiers within each client account:

TierPrice per screen, per month
1st screenFree
2nd screenR$ 49.00
3rd to 5thR$ 13.30
6th to 10thR$ 12.00
Above 10Custom volume proposal

Billing is graduated: each screen pays the price of the tier it falls in. The screens the account already has don't get cheaper when a new one is added; what falls is that account's average.

If you run several clients, this matters: the table applies to each client account. Each of your clients has its own account, and the ladder starts over in each one; adding up screens from different clients does not lower the average. For operators with several clients, Lucimark makes a custom volume proposal for the whole operation, after a test on one of your projects. The same goes for an account with more than ten screens.

Within a client account, compare that average with what you charge that client per screen. If you want the full numbers for a small network — investment, costs and the advertisers you need — they are in does a 5-screen network make money?.

It runs on the hardware you already install

Lucimark doesn't sell hardware and doesn't require a box of its own. The player runs:

  • on the Android 7+ app, from Google Play, on Android smart TVs (Google TV), tablets and Android boxes;
  • in any modern browser, at player.lucimark.com.

A screen joins the account with a QR code. For screens that should stay dedicated, there is an Android kiosk mode guide.

One limit worth knowing up front: there is no native player for Tizen (Samsung) or webOS (LG) yet. If your installed base is those brands, plan on an Android box at each location. Hardware, installation and field work stay with you, or with the local integrator who already works alongside you.

Run it remotely, without a visit for every change

The hidden cost of a network isn't the software; it's the car driving out to swap a USB stick. A platform for operators has to remove that visit in most cases.

With Lucimark, you publish to groups of screens from the browser, all at once, whether it's one shop or a network across several cities. When a screen is online, changing a campaign doesn't need a visit in most cases. If the venue's internet drops, the player keeps playing what it already has stored.

In the Studio, you follow each player's last contact and the incidents it reported.

The Studio's Screens area in map mode: how many are online, which need attention and where each one is. Demo data; the interface is in Portuguese.

The same view filters by status (online, offline, needing attention) and opens each player. The platform itself is monitored around the clock by our team, with AI support, on infrastructure distributed around the world.

Proof of play to invoice and renew

The advertiser isn't at the venue. What they get from you is the invoice and, if you do it right, proof of what was shown.

Lucimark produces proof-of-play reports in CSV or PDF that answer the advertiser's three questions:

  • what played: filtered by advertiser, playlist, media, folder or tags;
  • when it played: plays and airtime per day and per daypart;
  • where it played: per screen and, when the player records its location, on a map.

It is the document that backs your invoice and that you bring to the renewal conversation.

A sample report with illustrative data and map, in Portuguese: when it played, where it played and on which screens. Location covers the share of airtime in which the player had GPS.

How to organise this per advertiser is covered in proof of play.

What Lucimark doesn't do yet

A list of advantages with no limits is advertising, and screen operators have been burned before by vendors who only showed the first half. Today Lucimark does not offer:

  • native Tizen and webOS players (use Android or the browser);
  • video walls;
  • a contractual SLA;
  • a single dashboard with all your clients: each client is an account, and you switch between them;
  • a public API to integrate with other systems;
  • hardware, installation and field work, which stay with you.

We also don't publish customer cases or network numbers. We would rather prove it on a project of yours.

Seven questions to take to any vendor

Use this list with Lucimark and with any alternative you are evaluating — including the spreadsheet and USB stick you may be using today:

  1. Who talks to my end client, and who sets the price they pay?
  2. What does the 10th screen cost? And the 50th, spread across several clients?
  3. Do you charge per user or for storage?
  4. Do I have to buy your hardware?
  5. What happens to the screen when the venue's internet drops?
  6. How do I prove to my client what was shown?
  7. What don't you do yet?

The last one is the most useful. A vendor who can't answer it will find out the answer together with you, in the middle of a contract.

How to test it without replacing what you use

The path we suggest is short and has four steps:

  1. Discovery conversation: how many clients and screens you run, what you use today and where Lucimark could fit.
  2. Test with real screens: one of your clients or a group of screens, with the first rollout supported by us.
  3. Operation review: together we look at what worked, what was hard going and what is missing.
  4. Commercial proposal: if it makes sense, a custom proposal based on screen volume.

No commitment to replace what you already use.
